Educational experiences
Cervia has seen the birth of MUSA, the salt museum, dedicated to the local reality. Place of identity, in which knowledge, activities, characters and history find a suitable storage space but from which knowledge, activities, characters and history must also move outwards to reach those in the local community and those who come from other realities.
The educational experience offered by the museum is aimed at young people living on the territory and elsewhere through training courses carried out in association with the Gruppo Culturale Civiltà Salinara, the Atlantide cooperative and other local cultural associations.

Guided tours of the museum in English, French and German on request for groups of 15 persons or more. Booking is required.
Guided tour at the Camillone Salt Pan
From 15th June, guided tour of the Camillone salt pan, the only one remaining of the ancient artisan salt pans of Cervia. Salt worker for a Day
An afternoon in the company of the salt workers in the Camillone salt pan, the only one remaining of the ancient artisan salt pans of Cervia working alongside the salt workers. The members of the Gruppo Culturale Civiltà Salinara explain the salt production process and teach the participants the activities. At the end of the day, participants will receive a diploma of participation.

Guided tour inside the museum in the company of an expert salt worker of the Gruppo culturale Civiltà Salinara. Along the way, the tools, documents and images will be explained and observed that bear witness to Cervia’s past. With the support of video material, the salt pan is described from the point of view of nature, history and production.
Guided tours at Museum in Romagna dialect
Guided tour inside the museum in the company of a salt expert from the Civiltà Salinara Cultural Group. It is explained in dialect. Along the way, you can observe instruments, documents, and images that testify to Cervia's past. With the support of video material, the salt pan is also described from a naturalistic, historical and productive point of view.
Between Salt and Nature
Visit the MUSA salt museum and historical centre of Cervia: historical, economic and social information on the importance of salt in Cervia and the world, considerations on the salt production techniques, demonstration of the stages of the complete evaporitic cycle with the use of an “active model” which reproduces the Cervia salt pans; knowledge of the modern production techniques and comparison of old and new methods; the Cervia salt pans as natural oasis: “the silhouettes”, a study and reconstruction of the characteristic silhouettes of the birds of the salt pans and references between morphology and function, visual research of animal and plant species in nature found in the oasis and birdwatching.
